I have to agree with Michael, "A Plague of Demons" is outstanding. The technology suggested in this book has made its way into many other books and some into reality.

The undisputed king of fast-paced science fiction. His "A Plague of Demons" is without a doubt the fastest paced book I have ever read.
The selection on FeedBooks is but a small drop in Mr Laumers universe, Baen has "the Works", but you will have to cough up some of that hard earned cash to get your stinky little hands on them. http://www.baen.com/author_catalog.asp?author=klaumer
