The prose of Stapledon is concise, poetic, and beautiful. Although “Star Maker” has been known as a science fiction novel since its publication, if we accept the word of the author, W. Olaf Stapledon, the book is actually an astonishing autobiography. In the Preface, Stapledon explicitly states that “Star Maker” is NOT a novel.
