I really enjoyed this book, except the ending which was quite rushed.
Ignore the blurb above, it has little semblance to the actual book. Basically a mysterious murder happens nearby the narrator of the book, an antiquarian or something. At any rate, he gets involved into the investigation partly because a statue of Bast was left by it, and partly because the murder was connected to an ex-girlfriend of his.
It's actually got a slight Lovecraftian vibe to it (well, more Robert Bloch in his Lovecraft phase)
