Manitoba's Hayes River runs over 600kms from Norway House to Hudson Bay. Traditionally used for transport and hunting by the indigenous Cree, the Hayes became a major fur trade route in the 17th to 19th centuries. This is the account of the author's journey on the Hayes in the company of modern-day voyageurs reliving the past.
