Our lives are the ultimate game, but this doesn’t devalue those lives. It gives us the opportunity to realize we’re often playing to someone else’s script, someone else’s idea of the world.

In You, Grossman shows how growing deeply into our roots and the interlacings around us can help us build better selves, and better possibilities for communality.

There is probably enough decent material here to fill a movie, definitely not enough to float a 400 page novel. There’s too much nostalgia and not enough substance.
