“The Man Who Walked Away” is poignant and touching where it might have been passionate and tragic.

The result is a highly stylized, somewhat fitful story and, so, will not be to everyone’s taste.

The overall feeling conveyed by author Maud Casey is one of compassion for these patients who are struggling to live as normal a life as their illnesses will allow them.
