The Martian: A Novel

The Martian: A Novel

The Martian is a brilliant novel, which took me by surprise from beginning to end. It's unexpected, full of characters to love, laugh and despair with, and is a book about humans being tested to the extreme.

The Martian has the pacing and action of a thriller - even though it's mainly driven by one man on an abandoned planet. It's highly entertaining and actually pretty funny at times.

What’s terrific about The Martian is that it is smart, at times nail-biting, realistic and ultimately an uplifting story about what mankind can accomplish, even when things don’t go as smoothly as planned.

Bookreporter : The Martian (February 14, 2014)

As debut novels go, you won't find many finer than THE MARTIAN by Andy Weir.... From its opening descent into chaos to the final nail-biting pages, the book is a complete triumph.

It’s hard not to be swept up in his vision and root for everyone one of these characters to survive the hardships Weir puts them through.

The Martian is an intelligent and witty science-based story that reminds its audience of human abilities and perseverance.
