Editorial reviews (3 reviews)

It may be an adaptation of someone else’s novel, which itself is woven with references to other, earlier books, but nothing feels forced, nothing feels untrue.

"If you happen to be an Austen fan, I highly recommend McDermid’s latest. Find a quiet place to sit and go for it. It’s a fun reward.

Lovers of the original will want to read the plot in its pure form; if you don’t know the original you might wonder why such a skilful writer is wasting her time on such a thin plot.
