I cannot recommend the Feedbooks version of this book. It's missing the first chapter, having instead a duplicate of Chapter Two. Do yourself a favor and go download it (in a variety of formats including Kindle) directly from the author's site, http://www.starrigger.net . Bonus: for a limited time (as of August 2009) you can download the fourth book in the series there, "Sunborn", not available on Feedbooks.

This short story was quite entertaining. The editing, however, was appalling. It appears to have had absolutely no proofreading done after scanning and OCR; it's replete with "scannos".
