Another excellent book by Burroughs. The John Carter books really set the stage for sci-fi/fantasy storytelling for the last century. This one is every bit as exciting as "A Princess of Mars" with a cliffhanger ending rivaling "The Empire Strikes Back."

Great book! Originally published in 1912, you can see how it influenced all kinds of fiction - from Superman to Star Wars and even Masters of the Universe.
