In my opinion The Mating is NOT pornographic. Sensual, yes. Romantic, yes. Suspenseful, yes. Pornographic, NO. It's not even graphic. You obviously haven't read any pornographic or explicit fiction if you consider Nicky Charles' writing sexually explicit.

@mildredhubble. I'm in the process of writing a series of short stories from the life of Cole's father. I'm posting them at FictionPress.com at the moment, but as soon as I've finished the planned series I'm hoping to publish them in an anthology.

If you see this for sale at Amazon please do NOT buy it. It's a pirated copy. I've contacted Amazon and hopefully they will sort the matter out.

This is the second time (that I know of) someone has pirated my work and tried to earn money from my writing without my permission.

I'd like to say an enormous THANK YOU to everyone who has downloaded Black Silk from here and especially to those who have left such kind comments.

Regards,
Jan Gordon

@Jan_Smith, the internet challenge was on a private group and was a writing challenge with no winners. It was more a challenge to our muses...to get us to write.

I am writing some short stories based in the Black Silk universe, about Cole's parents. You can find them on FictionPress.com under the title "Life in the Shadows" http://www.fictionpress.com/s/2895642/1/Life_in_the_Shadows. So far there are only two shorts, each is labelled as a separate chapter. There will be more.

The Finding, third in the Laws of the Lycans series by Nicky Charles, doesn’t disappoint. Bryan and Cassie’s story moves between Ontario, Las Vegas, and Chicago. It’s a story of love, addiction, and greed.

Although this book is more PG (i.e. less sex) than the previous two in the series, it is no less enjoyable. It kept me reading, and when I finished I felt bereft as if good friends who had been visiting had left me alone. The love story between Bryan and Cassie was necessarily more innocent… (more)

A sequel to The Mating, and what a fantastic story. We all wanted to read Ryne's story and Nicky has given us an 'edge of the seat' journey. I adore Ryne, and Mel is full of fiery spirit. Again Nicky throws out red herrings and twists, something she is expert at doing.

It was good to check in on Kane and Elise again, and to know they are still alive and kicking.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and can't recommend it highly enough.

I'm sure Nicky won't mind if I tell you that she's writing a sequel to The Mating. I've had a sneak peek and it's a wonderful read. Patience...it will get uploaded to Feedbooks.

@Virtualseeds. I'm sorry you found Black Silk a little too stimulating for your taste. Feedbooks does not have an erotica section, however, one of the tags does say 'adult content' which is generally considered a euphemism for sexual content.

Wes, I thoroughly enjoyed His Robot Girlfriend. As an avid Star Trek fan I especially enjoyed the references when they were in Vegas. And I don't like the Borg either!

I found the world you painted fascinating. A world almost the same as today's, but with subtle differences.

I had an older download, so I noticed the errors :) which I'm sure you've now caught. I downloaded the mobi version and there was a section in chapter 8 where all the quote marks and apostrophes were replaced with symbols and letters.

I'm sorry, margamanterola, that you didn't enjoy Black Silk. I'm especially sorry that you felt compelled to compare it to Twilight, as I dislike the Twilight series intensely.

I didn't try to make Cole into a 'Prince Charming' - I was thinking more of Mick St. John from Moonlight. Black Silk was never meant to be akin to real life... it's fiction.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all readers who have either left a comment here on this site, or sent me a private email. This has been my… (more)

This is a love story that defies time and circumstance. It's also an edge of the seat read that has so much suspense, you won't be able to stop until you reach the end. With so many twists and turns, and countless red herrings, Forever In Time will keep you guessing until the very last chapter.
