It is, and that's exactly why you need a good editor who can read your text for you. Or a friend who knows English. Or your mom. Doesn't matter, but all the mistakes have to be fixed because they overshadow the otherwise very good stories and ruin the overall reading experience.
I would advise against proof reading your own texts, it drives you crazy after a while :-)
