Prooofreading is one of the things that set a book apart from the rest of the pack. Both of the books in this series are excellent, with good characters, interesting stories, and writing that flows well. They are marred, in my opinion, only by poor punctuation, and words misused (their for they're, for example ) I'm especially sensitive to this kind of thing because I used to work for a technical book publisher, doing proofreading and manuscript edits. I'd be happy to take a look at your manuscripts… (more)

It is, and that's exactly why you need a good editor who can read your text for you. Or a friend who knows English. Or your mom. Doesn't matter, but all the mistakes have to be fixed because they overshadow the otherwise very good stories and ruin the overall reading experience.
I would advise against proof reading your own texts, it drives you crazy after a while :-)
I enjoy Ivan B books but he has to proof read them before publication. There are always typos, grammar & spelling mistakes.Having said that, the story is once again a good read. All about ex army turned private investigator who solves a case with 17 dead bodies in the church crypt,& the relationship that develops between him & his new partner.
I couldn't finish this. As a reader/writer of "American" English I can deal with the "proper" British spelling of words. After all, the British created the language, so they're probably spelling things the right way. :-)
However, a homophone is a homophone and until the writer of this book knows what one is (or has an editor that does) I just can't recommend this work. Between the typo's and misused words it's just too painful to read no matter how well the story may eventually get.

Good stories, bad, bad (bàd) English.
Too many your vs you're and its vs it's and so on to enjoy it properly.
Please proof read before publishing! This is a terrible shame.

I really liked this book! It has quite a few typo's, but an excellent read nonetheless!
