The Gem in the Locket

The children locked up in the Orphanage have only one possession: each has a small stone that constantly gets lost and magically returns, and only the lockets can keep them safe. A girl named Lo-Ruhamah discovers the secret of the stones, the lockets, and the strange man--the only actual adult in the Orphanage--whose locket alone is always empty.
