I read a book in the 60s by J.A> Rogers, called 100 amazing facts about the negro. He says that Queen Charlotte was mulatto, and that her mother had an African servant, apparantly a dwarf, and when Charlotte was born they attributed her dark appearance to the fact that her m,other kept "looking at" the servant during pregnancy. or it was due to her great liking for chocolate. I dont remember whether it was the doctor who said that. It also said that Beerhoven was negro, and that the king or prince referred to him as a blackamoor.
