Howard Kessler has lived the fast life of a Hollywood star and his time in the spotlight has been sustained and well-deserved. A kid from Brooklyn with no education and no positive role-models, Howard’s fame, fortune, and grandiosity have earned him a reputation as a big-spending, Brooklyn tough-guy with a gritty personality. But his run with women, alcohol, and dice have landed him in a predicament where he's getting passed over for roles.
So Howard embarks on a soul-searching expedition that takes him right back to Brooklyn, against the wishes of his trusted friend and agent. In between the nostalgia, the reunion with his old gang provides painful details of the past, and reminds Howard why he left Coney Island in the first place.
Howard found success once he left Brooklyn, but at a cost that he may regret: leaving abruptly and cutting ties for decades had enabled trivial resentments to turn into lifelong grudges. When he seizes an opportunity to turn his career around by writing a telling memoir using their stories, he doesn’t heed the risks of getting involved with the old gang again.
Meet the old gang and see for yourself who comes out on top.
