Some of the theories regarding issues are explored, and then a bunch of other (sometimes intriguing) possibilities are mentioned only in passing, or in some cases overlooked. It lacks citations and references, making it easy for the author to say "many scholars discount this theory" or similar statements - without showing who, how many or how widespread such a view is, or - more importantly - why they hold this view. It isn't intended as a deep treatise, but could do with a lot more input and pointers as where to look further.
On the upside, it is clearly licensed as public domain and able to be built upon, and may well make an interesting start to a better researched and laid out review of some of these issues.
