In the latter half of the nineteenth century, Cain is a gunfighter known as a leading cause of ghost towns. His desire for a peaceful life is impossible given his sordid past and his inability to remember the bad things he believes he did. Now, his friends from a Palouse tribe have begged him to right a wrong brought about by the US Cavalry. Indebted to the tribes, Cain rides to confront the Cavalry. And the demons of his past rides beside him.
