Rimer - A shy and timid man who sees himself as something of a educated fellow, despite a lack of qualifications a job or, in fact, a house. Will his poetry become the clear answer to escape or end up a cryptic muddle of verse?

Olga - Also lacking in the house department, Olga is a Russian immigrant who fills and empties her live with a drug addiction fuelled by prostitution and blackmail. Delving into her past through the medium of dream, she will have to come to terms with her troubled childhood and understand how it has shaped her adulthood.

Marko - A rough and ready associate of Rimer and Olga, who feels little emotion to the small time jobs they occupy their time with. It's gangs that have become the base of power but will Marko become another thug in a town full of many, or lead a revolt to his own escape.
