“To me poetry
is a complex recipe
It’s two-thirds imagination
one-third alliteration”
~Mitch Fairchild
Mitch Fairchild was born and raised in the small Central Texas town of Luling. As a child, his writing ability was seen by his teachers as wonderful, joyous, incredible and totally awesome (OK…his mom thought those things). It didn’t take long for the future Pulitzer Prize winning author (way, way, way in the future) to gain acclaim at the college level for his writing. While in college studying Journalism, he was approached by many news agencies to write articles for their publications (OK…he applied for a job writing obituaries once). Instead, Mitch changed his major to psychology in hope of discovering what makes women nag and what makes men not want to use a map (or put the toilet seat down). Along the way, his study of life has offered many opportunities to write about one situation or another. He finally found his niche…poetry. This blog was created to help introduce Mitch’s poetry to the world.
Mitch lives in Round Rock, Texas with his beautiful wife Courtney and their two lovely daughters, Carly and Cassidy.
