Good story. I will certainly be downloading the next in this series. The book did not go the way I expected, refreshingly so. The author accurately captures the mind of a child, "...Mom was always one year behind my tastes..." but also carefully crafts foreboding at the end, with Jack's character. Kudos to the author on a well written short story that serves both as a character piece and a tempting prequel to the next in the series.
