Zen From the Heartland chronicles chord theory unfolding in a life; mine. Harmony defines our lives; we do not choose that reality, it is the unalterable organizing structure of the universe. We can, as they say in gangster movies, “do this hard, or do this easy.” Most often, when we “do it hard” we introduce discord into our lives by failing to recognize the harmonic elements in every moment of the present. Zen From the Heartland records my attempts to recognize those harmonic moments and to understand what they teach me about living.
