<dc:description>In the course of my job I’ve given a lot of baths to little girls. There aren’t a lot of jobs where this can be considered a normal thing, but as a nanny that’s how it goes. Over the past few years there are few things I’ve come to dread more than having to comb out my girls’ hair once bath time is done. I put myself in their shoes one day and the idea for this story came about. Simple and touching.</dc:description>

This four-month, ten-thousand-mile solo adventure includes moments of blissful backroads freedom, cultural connection, and roadside romance--interrupted by cracked welds, electrical gremlins, evil tow truck drivers, tornadoes, and hurricanes. From B.C. to the Blue Ridge, Boquillas to Beverly Hills, American Borders is a unique and intimate exploration of the melange that defines American culture.</dc:description>

Now, more than ever, it has become yawl anthem - “you don’t need a man. you can do bad all by your self.” This isn’t the anthem you should chose to scream on every mountaintop, or chant like a sister who just about lost her mind, or memorized it like a holy prayer sure to bring you out of your misery -
you have been forced to coin an anthem. Influenced by your experiences and scarred by the very core of your independent nature, it has become almost mandatory to believe that you do not need a man to feel safe, secure, wanted or loved. Lord knows, if you had to depend on a man to provide you with confidence, security or to just be a constant force in your life, you would have jumped off a bridge a long time ago. <dc:description><p>"Rashōmon" (Japanese: 羅生門) is a short story by Akutagawa Ryūnosuke based on tales from the Konjaku Monogatarishū. A man considering whether or not to become a thief meets a woman stealing hair from corpses. Their conversation explores the morality of theft.</p>

<p>The story was first published in 1915 in Teikoku Bungaku. Despite its name, it provided no direct plot material for the Akira Kurosawa movie Rashōmon, which was based on Akutagawa's 1921 short story, In a Grove.
