I had to read this novella about a couple of RenFaire kids hitchhiking a ride to New Orleans because I hitched a ride home with a guy from college, some 750 miles, my favorite place was pre-Katrina New Orleans and I love RenFaires and dressing up. This story doesn't disappoint with it's slightly disjointed telling reminding me of a little smoking, a little drinking and catching a ride. Relaxing into a strangers story. Things not turning out quite like you planned but still enjoying the adventure. It captures the spirit very well. I can almost taste the smoke.
