<dc:description>Floreina is a cybernetically enhanced young woman with a vibrant future in the Amarrian Empire, a decorated turret commander and slave overseer aboard an Abaddon warship. But after a cruel “accident” and the repeated abuse of slaves, Floreina risks everything in a defiant act of mutiny.

Along the way, she learns that commandeering a battleship takes more than just artificially focused cunning, automated adrenaline injections, and simple, old-fashioned brutality. For her plan to succeed, Floreina must befriend a Minmatar slave.

But plans don’t always go as planned… And as the two fight for their lives, Floreina must find a way to reconcile their friendship with the racism that drives her career.

<dc:description>If Stephanie Fields was asked to describe herself, she’d say she was ordinary, calm and cautious. Her quiet life was exactly as she wanted it to be, or so she thought, until a mysterious stranger entered her shop. He had a knack for drawing her out of herself, for pushing her buttons, for making her feel... But now, just when life was getting interesting, someone was stalking her.

Excerpt:

She was in there, he knew it. He’d followed her that morning as she left her house, keeping a discreet distance, doing nothing that could alert her or anyone else of his intentions... Time was on his side. He could wait. Wait until his target appeared... “I’m waiting for you Stephanie,” he whispered as she exited the grocery store and put her purchases into her sensible grey car. “I’ve been waiting a very, very long time.”

<dc:description> Dr. Jim Sagacity is a Marriage and Family Therapist that has the special ability to see deep inside other people. He can see their souls. He volunteers at a Philadelphia hospital in order to be as close to death as possible, for during most fatalities, he watches the spirit of the recently deceased depart this world in a display of pure joyous wonder. Throughout his life, he celebrates his ability in secret, focusing on the sheer elation of these transitions, until one day he is shown that not all souls are willing or able to take that all important step to the next realm. Weaker souls, small and dim to Jim’s eyes, face a darker fate.

With a new understanding of what death might mean, Dr. Sagacity joins a group of other specially gifted people in hopes of assisting those spirits he believes lack the strength to move on to a new existence. Pooling their incredible and supernatural talents, they pinpoint those individuals that are facing death in the very near future. Jim Sagacity experiences the complexities of working with others focused beyond the constraints of this physical realm, but within a society attentive to the normal realities of death, despair and even murder. He finds that not everyone shares his views, that the truth can often be distorted, and that the world he lives in can be a very difficult and dangerous place. </dc:description>

<dc:description>A "hero hunts MacGuffin, gets into trouble, maybe out of it" tech yarn. Has literary merit the way high-gloss pornography has artistic merit.

The paint-by-numbers:

"Agent Eric Gray has seen better nights (and a lot of better days) when a midnight call to duty revives an uneasy past and leads him onto an all-in quest of personal revenge, between rogue agents and a radical sect, towards an high-tech artifact that could spell salvation--or damnation--for mankind as we know it."

That's the B-movie trailer voice over blurb. Or Men's Health literature section abstract. The book itself might even have literary merit, even though perhaps the way high-gloss porn has artistic merit. Exciting, thrilling, funny, scary, sad, painful, uplifting, downcasting and a myriad of other inductions. A ride of constant offerings and more than just speed -- and even more platitudes. +1. </dc:description>

<dc:description>This is the first three chapters of my novel. Jackie Rutledge is a Chicago FBI agent who walks that fine line between competence and nervous breakdown. When a killer begins bleeding people dry, Jackie’s psychic partner Laurel, tells her to get off the case. The spirit world is involved and they aren’t playing nice. Worse, the prime suspect, one PI Nick Anderson, seems to exude death worse than the local cemetery. Jackie is not a “leave well enough alone” sort of woman however. She hasn’t let a bad guy get away since she was twelve, and this one will be no different. Unless of course, he’s not the killer.

Despite the evidence, Jackie does not get the “killer” vibe from Nick. He’s not at all what he appears. His past goes back far beyond the humanly possible. In fact, nothing about the case makes sense, and the more they dig, the more it seems Laurel was right. They’re dealing with a killer who effortlessly walks between the living and the dead, and she will need Nick’s help to take that step, because facing the dead is where Jackie’s competence ends and the breakdown begins.
