Newly assigned to head a special terrorism task force, semiretired NYC police detective John Landford rounds up a team of unlikely professionals pulled from FBI, Interpol, and Homeland Security to track down the theft of a stolen electrical part that may come with serious consequences by threatening the world's largest oil-fired, electric-generating plant.

Murder follows the part as it journeys from small-crime neighborhoods in Puerto Rico to opulent and glamorous destinations of Vienna, Germany, and the Mideast, generated from the psychotic mind of an OPEC power broker.

It is a race against time as John Landford's team struggles to make sense of it all while trying to prevent the part from getting to its destination and achieving a disastrous outcome. They try to keep up but find themselves always hours short or a plane ride away.
